Make a copy

Open the file from your download link
File → Make a copy
Work from your copied version only

Excel

Open safely

Download and open the .xlsx
If you see “Protected View”, click Enable Editing
Save your own copy before you start

Best practice

Keep a clean backup

Store the original download as “CLEAN”
Use a separate “WORKING” copy day-to-day
If you upgrade later, migrate via copy/paste values

“View only” / can’t edit

You must make your own copy (File → Make a copy) to edit.

Excel

Protected View

Click Enable Editing, then Save As into your working folder.
